In 2018 the brand Atena University was born to identify the branch of Atena srl that deals with education and cultural dissemination.

The initiative is promoted by the architect Emma Francia ↗︎ and by the research technician Luigi Vantangoli ↗︎ , who combining the mutual experiences of designer and expert of materials and technologies dedicated to maintenance, restoration and well-being housing in general, they run courses for technicians.

From 2018 to July 2022, almost 16,000 technicians attended Atena University's courses obtaining CFP.

A large Team of Teachers ↗︎ , academics and technical experts and an online platform that allows up to 1,000 accesses at the same time, offer a high-performance service and high quality content.

To define the state of the art regarding the common problems of the facades, a manual has been published in two volumes:

Manual for restoration and maintenance of facades

A manual dedicated to designers, technicians and companies operating in the field of restoration and recovery of degrades facades.

The work gathers the over thirty years' experience of the authors in the field of restoration and maintenance of facades, it was born as an operational tool, to be consulted daily, to know important methods and develop a project of restoration or intelligent and programmed maintenance over time.

The manual offers food for thought clarifying the concepts of text and context, the history of the facade through stylistic expressions, colors, materials.

Then it enters in the operational part illustrating the characteristics of materials and raw materials that make up the plasters and colored finishes.

It describes all the diagnostic analyses to be carried out on site and in laboratory, the method to know with precision the most common pathologies and understand the mistakes made in previous maintenance.

It offers methods for drawing up a project that offers the best conditions for future scheduled maintenance.

All application cycles are developed with particular attention to the preparations of supports.

The manual ends, in the second volume, with a complete glossary and an extensive bibliography.
