Atena's Natural Hydraulic Lime Plasters
Monocalk & Intonaco Naturale Lines
introRegarding rising damp, we promote the concept of separating two distinct terms:
• Masonry drying
• Surface restoration
While our technology takes care of the guaranteed drying process Dry Up, for restoration we have always recommended replacing damaged and/or cement-based plasters with NHL natural hydraulic lime plasters, asking to review the technical data sheets of the products to provide an expert opinion.
Now, Atena introduces its own catalog line of NHL natural hydraulic lime plasters.
These mortars are the result of over thirty years of research and job site applications. Their special formulations allow to achieve high-performance materials. Without using chemicalswe are able to obtain mortars that are extremely easy to use and highly performing.
The advantages of the new Atena lime mortars
plusWe have formulated three types of mortar where, by changing aggregates and binders, we can meet the needs of most of the market.
The common features of all three are:

Single-product system
The exact same product is used as a scratch coat (with anti-salt properties), as the main plaster body (with dehumidifying properties), and as the final skim coat.Manual or machine application
Extreme ease of use: there is no longer any risk of confusing different products in the application sequence because it is a single product.Excellent versatility
With a single product, you can skim, plaster, and repair old masonry.
The Plasters
variations
White single-layer plaster made of white NHL 5 natural hydraulic lime and white and black siliceous aggregates with a grain size distribution up to max 0.6 mm.

Ash-grey single-layer plaster, composed of hazelnut-colored NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, siliceous aggregates, and black pozzolana with a grain size distribution up to max 1.5 mm.

Moretta (dark brown) single-layer plaster, composed of hazelnut-colored NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, siliceous aggregates, and micronized crushed brick (cocciopesto) with a grain size distribution up to max 0.6 mm.

To this series of high-performance single-product plasters, we have added a traditional natural hydraulic lime plaster NHL 3.5, which we call INTONACO NATURALE.
This plaster, applicable by hand or machine, has a grain size distribution featuring aggregates up to 3 mm. For this reason, it must then be finished with one of the three Monocalk products, depending on the chosen color, or with a standard fine lime mortar.
In this way, we are able to serve any type of job site, from small renovation and restoration tasks to large-scale interventions, including new constructions.
